Employees say Albuquerque-based Internet company swindled customers

CoyoteGo.com’s website misspells the company’s own address.

Employees say thousands of people ordered from an Albuquerque-based Internet company but got nothing in return, and now the owner has disappeared.

One former employee, who didn’t want to be identified, says CoyoteGo took orders from 5,000 people around the country.

But now the company has been evicted from its offices on Central Avenue at Sixth Street, and the registered owner has moved out of his rental home, leaving it in shambles.

And, the employee said, few of the 50 employees were paid.

Eyewitness News 4 isn’t identifying CoyoteGo’s owner because he hasn’t been charged with any crime. But, we discovered, federal agents raided a Rhode Island business he was a part of in 2005.

The Better Business Bureau has been swamped with complaints about the company, and has given the company an ‘F’ rating. “Recently, the BBB of the Southwest has received numerous complaints from consumers regarding this company,” the bureau’s website says. “Consumers report that items that they have ordered from the company have not been delivered and that attempts to contact the company via telephone or email have been unsuccessful.”

The business’ website is still online, listing merchandise and taking orders.

Its contact information misspells its office’s address as “600 centeral,” with a ZIP code of 87111, while the U.S. Postal Service’s website says the ZIP code for that address should be 87102.

A spokesperson for the FBI told Eyewitness News 4 he’d look into CoyoteGo. And, the Better Business Bureau has contacted the Federal Trade Commission. And, the New Mexico Attorney General’s office has received complaints.
