I-Team: Alleged Internet Scheme Resurfaces

NBC 10's I-Team has learned that an alleged computer fraud scheme in Providence has resurfaced in New Mexico.

In March, the I-Team uncovered an alleged fraud scheme in Providence. It's now allegedly moved to Albuquerque.

Dave Andrews, a convicted felon with numerous aliases, ran an Internet company called MixITforME.com. It was headquartered in a downtown building.

Andrews and his then partner, Corey Johnson, lived the high life, throwing a lavish New Year's Eve party and living for a time in a mansion in Florida.

But Andrews is an alleged con artist, accused of taking orders for electronic merchandise and never delivering the goods.

The FBI and Secret Service eventually raided his Providence offices, and on Wednesday, FBI agents in Albuquerque shut the doors on Andrews' new operation, called coyotego.com -- a Web site that looks similar to MixITforME.com.

Employees in New Mexico said Andrews took more than 5,000 orders for merchandise and never filled one. One man is allegedly out $140,000.

Andrews' employees are now out of jobs, and they said their boss has skipped town, leaving behind two of his pet dogs.

But one agency said it knows where Andrews is -- that's the Secret Service.

Agent Tom Powers in Providence said the investigation into Andrews and his alleged schemes is continuing.
