RE: US supplier of new iPods
I hate repeating myself but legitimate suppliers are hard to come by so please be wary in your search.

I believe they are also based in NYC. They accept credit cards and PayPal as forms of payment.
You can also find some great deals on eBay or Yahoo! auctions. Alibaba.com seems to have a little bit of everything - but I have yet to actually purchase something from them. I am a bit wary of some of the sellers - as others on here have stated, stay away from companies that require bank wire transfers only or western union payments. Both of which are highly frauded.
