I agree your point.
However, here I could say that buyers are not stupid. most buyers must do the research of selling price before they bid an auction from eBay. For me, an international buyers in eBay, I will compare the price between Taiwan and seller's selling price. Once, if I found seller's price is lower, then I will set a bottom buying price. For example, Logitech cordless keyboard set costs $120 USD, the auction starts from $1. I would set my bottom price at $80 - $90 even less. Because other two things I need to concern are the shipping cost and warranty value.

Therefore, the sellers have their faked bid to increase the auction price, but not 100%, they can have real buyers to win their auctions. Also, eBay may charge the auction fee from the seller, when the auction is successfully ended. So, the sellers might lose their money, if the auction is ended with a club member.
