Hi, I'm a newbie from Australia
Just gotta say that ebay is great, but I think it's better for buyers than sellers, my experience of selling on ebay is that the buyers are so tight fisted with their money that if the product is listed at more than half the retail price they aren't interested (even buy it now)... I think ebay has become too big with too much competition and finding your niche is difficult. The only item I made a really good profit on was a JVC region 1&2 car dvd player with two 8" screens and two wireless headphones. I purchased it for about AU$600 and sold it for AU$800 (Australian retail would be about $1300). The only negative was the postage cost from the US to AU since the item was heavy... still, I made a tidy profit on that one. Dropshipping really can work.
I'm currently trying out a much smaller Australian version called Oztion. I'm selling customised screensavers (making screensavers from peoples personal photos and videos). Oztion has no listing fees (unless you want featured), lower final value fees & they currently have less than half a million listings so there is less competition, but of course there are also less people viewing your item, still because of the lower fees your profits are better on the items you do sell.
Thanks for listening
Julia
