Problems with ebay feedback
was recently left my first negative and neutral feedback from the same buyer, dropping my positive rating from 100% to 99%. The buyer left the negative feedback because during the shipping process his item got damaged, he asked for a replacement, we obliged, and he then left negative feedback because he believed the damage should never have happened in the first place. Even though it happened during the shipping process, which as nothing to do with us.
I talked to ebay about this injustice, they said they couldn't do anything. I've also asked the buyer, what can I do for him so that he would withdraw his comments, and I'm still waiting for a response. What other avenues do I have to get removed this unreasonable feedack?

if he did not buy insurance , that is reasonable, you can go to squretrade.com file a case which you choose to pay $29.99 to them help you withdrawl your feedback, if sucess, you will charge this, if not sucess, you wont charge.

Did you let the buyer know that you were going to leave negative feedback in return? If not let him know then he may have a change of heart. Personally I would not let this worry me. If you sell on Ebay your going to run into these type of people that you just can't please. A feedback rating of 99 is still great and should not effect your sales at all. Did you offer or include insurance? If so then the shipper should be the one dealing with this issue since they are the ones that damaged the item.

No I did not offer insurance. I think that a rating less than 100% will affect sales. I think a lot of people only deal with people with 100% rating.

Don't worry to much about the negative feedback people will still buy from you , And you will always get someone who will leave a negative feedback no matter how much you try to please them.

In case some of you dont know, eBay has changed their policy on feedback. You can no longer leave negative feedback to buyers. Im not sure why. I think there are a lot of people I sold to that were very rude.
On the issue of lowered sale due to your negative feedback. Its not a horrible problem. I have a friend that got his first negative feedback, but he has over 1000 positive. He hasnt had any drop in sales since he got it. So if you have a lot of feedback and 1 person had a problem I dont see this as an issue and wouldnt stop me from buying from someone. As someone that does a lot of sales on eBay (I have 698 100% positive feedback and growing) I know that there some very stupid costumers. And if you are someone that is honest and has consistently growing feedback people with trust you.
You can add a note to your negative feedback and explain what happened. It seems understandable and it wouldnt make me hesitate from buying from you. People should know that no one is perfect. Even if you go to a store and buy something you will still come across problems. But since you have the option of leaving feedback it opens the door to people leaving it for silly reasons. If you want me to buy from you to make you feel better I will ;)
