Running a Dropshipping business is pretty simple. You don't have to pay up front for inventory. In fact, you don't pay for an item unless it sells. You don't need to stock or ship merchandise. It's all done for you by the dropshipper.
You simply place an ad on eBay or your website and when someone buys the product they pay you for the product.
The key is to find the right dropshipper and the right product. Running a Dropshipping business is pretty simple. You don't have to pay up front for inventory. In fact, you don't pay for an item unless it sells. You don't need to stock or ship merchandise. It's all done for you by the dropshipper.

However finding the right supplier is far from easy. The dropshipper lists that you can buy on ebay and some websites are mostly useless as the products on offer are mostly not wanted such as knife sets or crappy gifts. These dropshippers often charge a fee which means they also have no faith in the selling power of their products. There few and far good directories in between but I would recommend Ebay Wholesale sources as it lists dropshippers that ship worldwide not just the USA. It also lists a variety of products including authentic designer clothing which work very well for me

that is very difficult to differenciate your products or service from others in order to gain competitive advantage in ebay.

If you are clueless about what to sell on Ebay then I wouldn't recommend it. You need to get into something that you are more stronger on. Something where you can get better deals and so fourth. Look at the hobbies you do and what not. Is there anything that could make a business? You could look at not going on ebay, and going on your own. Whether it's online or a small business around your city. Everyone always needs main services, being more different will attract a lot of business for yourself.
All businesses are taking risks. Most businesses don't last for more than five years and a lot of them not even for a year. Reason is people go in there thinking they are going to make tons of money because another similiar business is doing the same. It's not going to be sucessful for everyone. Most businesses for those five years don't make any profit, it's more of a I have to pay this and that off before money comes in. However, all of that will pay off in the end if you are attracting potential consumers.
You need to look at it more, and see if you can be different. That's another reason businesses go under because they stay the same and can't bring any change to the people that count the consumers. Different techniques and so on attracts more interest in your product or service you are providing.
Ebay is not for everyone, and either is starting a business on your own. Having someone drop ship for you is probably the easiest thing to do at first, then when you get bigger you could deal straight from major companies and get better deals. This however you would have to get a warehouse to stock items. Leaving more costs for you to deal with. All businesses are risks, you just got to be knowledgable enough to know if it is worth getting yourself into or not. Like I said it's not for everyone.

The key bit of advice that I always give out to new sellers is to try and focus 'Niche' (ie. not a lot of other sellers or a highly specific sector) or something that you can 'add value' to. An example of adding value, although not completely relatable to Ebay, is my younger brother...
He is an art student and was struggling to pay his costs (materials ect) when someone noticed that he had painted his iPod and they wanted him to do something similar to theirs. He now customises iPods and uses the money he makes to pay his bills..
Simple idea but works for him

i see, that is a good idea, your brother is "refurnish" the ipod to sell to customers, your bro differciate ipod to competing to other sellers. but what i am thinking is the demand will not be high, only target on one group of buyers.

Thats the point, target a group of buyers where the demand is sufficient to develop the profits you require. My rule of thumb is to never aim to sell to everyone, get specific ( a researched specific is as good as selling to everyone)

Actually key point would be to look at things that you like because more than likely there are tons of people that like your hobbies or interests as well and will spark demand for the product or service that you come up with.

My plan will allow you to resell any of our products anywhere you want and will also include an ebay ad wizard to help you create your auction listings. I forgot to mention over 35,000 products
