    Default PDF Conversion to XML/EDI?

    Hi.

I work for a medium size distributor of organic products. We would like to get into EDI but have been put off by the complexity and cost. We currently get a lot of our orders and invoices by PDF. In addition, we send our proforma/Commercial invoice information by PDF to our Logistics provider/Customs Broker. Is there a way to convert these PDFs into a useable data file for us to import?

Default PDF Conversion XML,PDF to Excel,PDF to CSV

Actually yes there is a way to do PDF Conversion for EDI purposes. I'm with a manufacturer of furniture and we recently started using a product called EDI Link Connect. It allows us to email our Purchase Orders to a special email address and it returns a data file compatible with our internal system (PDF to XML) (custom built). We started using it because our Customs Broker/Logistics provider uses it for the PDF Proformas we send them. It ended up being very easy and saved us quite a bit of time. We also got a break on our Logistics costs because the broker was able to bypass the re-keying of our data too. I would recommend it even though we've only used it for 6 months so far.

Google "EDI Link Connect" and you should get to their home page.

    Hope that helps.
