Default importing from China question
I have a company that I want to import products from, although I have no idea what is involved. they quoted me a price with shipping but they also said I need to pay other fees and that I needed to contact a shipping agent to find out other fees. Who do I contact in Ohio and how do I know what my total cost will be for this? I am having a 20 ' container imported with kids fitness equipment in the container but not sure if I am getting in over my head or not. I have no place to store the items yet but plan on renting a storage place. Any advice would be appreciated.

As this is your first import expeirence i suggest you use a shipping agent who wil sort very thing out for you . other charges will include import taxes ,Vat, landing fees . have alook through this link and contact a few agents . they should tell you what you need to know , good luck.

What is the shipping agent for? The company has the shipping set up to get to the port it needs to go to but then it needs to come to my address, so is this where the shipping agent comes in?

you need an agent to help you clear the customs and ship the item to your wearhouse where you need to rent it first. i can help u to take care shipping agent if your container is shipping from China, send me a message if you need me. thanks
