Paypal holds your money for 180 days!!!
As a seller, I have done many transactions on ebay using Paypal. It is easy for the most part and ebay makes it simple for auction winners to pay using it. Then problem I ran into with Paypal is that if you are selling something they think is "risky", like Xbox 360, they automatically limit your account. Your account is frozen until you can go through a lengthy verification process. I followed this process, except could not provide shipping verification because my auction was for pre-sale of Xbox 360, and would not receive it for a couple of weeks. This is allowed by ebay and Paypal, suppossedly. When I talked to Paypal "customer service" they advised me to refund my buyers to clear my account since I could not prove shipment. I did that. They then informed me that they wanted to "part ways" because I was too big of a risk to them. They informed me they would hold my account for 180 days and then would refund my money. I have over $2600 in my account that I can't get now, even though I have no complaints, or outstanding purchases. They are absolutely horrible to work with, always get new person and never an account review specialist that can actually make a decision. They don't take phone calls!!! Even if my account is restored, since I can now prove I have the Xbox 360s, I will never use Paypal again.

yes, true, for security reason, they do all steps, if doing huge order, i suggest do the escrow.com , paypal is only for ebay seller, i have a suggestion to avoid these problems is that seller should verify your paypal account to primeum or business account first before you sell on ebay, this will avoid all your problem have later on.

I've read many horror stories about Paypal, but it must be judged individually, depending on the way it is used. As a seller, it is good to have quick payment so the goods can be shipped and the transaction closed. If you're a seller who uses Paypal, it's very important to use some type of delivery confirmation if an issue arises where someone claims they don't receive their goods. PayPal will usually ask for proof. If you cannot provide a tracking nimber or delivery confirmation number, the buyer will most likely win. Depending on the amount and the type of Paypal account you have, they will freeze and hold your money until they are satisfied that the deal has been completed. As stated above, they also may decide the risk is too high and not allow you to sign up. You can esily get around this by signing up with a different name or credit card account, or simply have another acquantance open an account for you. As quickly as they change rules and policy, people are figuring out ways to get around them.

The problem with switching account is that I lose the ebay feedback I have received and have to start from 0 again. I did have a business account by the way and was not selling in bulk, just sold 4 xbox 360s. Paypal getting too cocky, think customer service is not that important, since they are the top dog on ebay. It would be nice if ebay offered alternative instant check out like they have with paypal, but unlikely since ebay own paypal. Something seems wrong with that as well, conflict of interest. Anyone have alternative to Paypal?

i use paypal for long times, i got many case of charge back or non receipt claims, but i won most of cases, as long as i provide tracking number and explain it where to track, you will win most of the case, i don't think any problem with paypal, no need to switch around

I do think paypal is doing well and the stringent measures taking by them is for security reasons only. I too waited for 180 days for get my first payment, until I was verified. Once Iwas verified, they are sending the money like anything. The only thing it may take 2-3 weeks to get your money.

Warning- Paypal Sucks
Paypal is not easy to work with if you are a seller and run into problems. You never get to talk to the same person on the phone in customers service and you can never talk with their account review people, who are the ones that actually make the decisions. My account was limited for selling 4 xbox 360s. I had to cancel those auctions and refund the money, which would have been fine, but Paypal still froze my account. I have the xbox 360s in my home to prove to them that I have them and told them so, but did not matter. I actually took a picture of them and tried to send it to someone there at paypal to look at, but they would not do anything. I now have nearly $3000 sitting in paypal's coffers for 6 months that they won't let me access. Tell me how this is a good company to work with!!!

yes, your situation is kinda bad , take 6 months to withdraw your $3000, that is really crap , you need call them again, solve them thing out, you have no choice at this time, don't know why they do that, as long as you provide prove of your address , SSN , banking account all 6 things they need, you should be fine, like apply to be business account ,you need that all

Well your situation sucks but Paypal doesn't only do that. I knew someone with a merchant account (owns an online business) and he moves cash around a lot and he got in $30k when the credit card company decided to freeze his account because too much activity was going on. What happened? He had to come up with the extra $30k to go about his business to suit his customers because he has a good rep going. Talk about BS! What I'm getting at is big companies could care less what happens to your money. If only there were honest and true people still out there that care about every individual whether it's a small company or a big company -- it shouldn't matter! Just shows you how organized they are (sarcastic)...ughhh...
