i never see the oem ipod nano, oem products usually is not original package or no package or accessories
Maybe Mikas can help me with this one. When speaking of Apple Ipod nanos, what is the difference between OEM and Original?
I'd appreciate any and all input.
Thanks!

Actually, I'm looking at OEM iPod Shuffles. These are in retail packaging.
Anyone understand the distinction between OEM and Original?
Thanks!
Jim
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) is a company that does the original manufacturing of a product. Apple is an OEM of the iPod.
The manufactured product could contains parts wholely designed and owned by the company (like Apple/iPod), or licensed from other companies. OEM iPods could fall into this category - MP3 players that are manufactuered with sub-components licensed by Apple to the manufacturer.
Or it could be actual iPods that are sub-licensed (or branded) by another company. The second company's iPod could then be called an OEM iPod product.
I bought some OEM iPods by accident once. They behaved and looked exactly like iPods except that the control wheel was labeled a little different.
Personally, I could take or leave an OEM iPod.
interested oem ipod. . should get one and see

OEM Short for original equipment manufacturer, which is a misleading term for a company that has a special relationship with computer producers. OEMs are manufacturers who resell another company's product under their own name and branding. While an OEM is similar to a VAR (value-added reseller), it refers specifically to the act of a company rebranding a product to its own name and offering its own warranty, support and licensing of the product. The term is really a misnomer because OEMs are not the original manufacturers; they are the customizers.
OEM Products, are not manufacured with their correspoding brand manfacture, they are manufacured by other's, but the equipment, is the original.
XERON seems to have the most accurate answer, based on what I'm being told.
Is this practice legal? Can I sell these products as Apple products?
Ok, I will tell you from my experince and knowledge, but im sure BW will disagree again.
This practice is legal. BUT, the manufacture that put together the units, must have a specific document from Apple Manufacture, allowing them to manufacture their own I-pod but with the original equipment.
At customs, the units can be held up,if the manufacture, didn't provide the shipping company any prove of Apple allowing this act to be done. Futher on, the units will be held at custom until the documents are shown.
I received the 50 OEM Shuffles today. They made it thru customs quickly (I was tracking them), but there are small, noticable differences between these and Original Apple Ipod Shuffles. The manuals were different, as was the color of the apple logo on the units (a shade darker than original). Also, no software was included. I think as a consumer, I would consider these copies. Now, if someone can supply originals, please contact me.
