Because of this, the warranties are NOT with apple but with the company that you purchase them from. I wouldnt consider them to be high copies because they have serial numbers and they are exactly the same as the Ipods themselves...nothing funny like the extra push button in the middle of the click wheel or anything like that.

I've just been stung with this scam. I got 4 ipod nanos from China and they're EXACTLY the same as the genuine article. But they didn't even work, or come with a warranty. It had me confused for hours because you really can't tell the difference. They've got the apple logos on the ipods and on the packaging, plus serial numbers. In the end, the givaway was in the manual. Although the click wheel had the same symbols as a real ipod, the functions were different in the manual. Plus the switch on top of the ipod was on/off, NOT hold (looking into it further, I discovered that NO genuine ipod has been made with the on/off switch at the top - it's ALWAYS the hold switch). It's an absolute minefield!

What I want to know is, is there any way of having a bit more security with these purchases? Maybe a union-type thing that these traders have to be a member of that's monitored and guaranteed etc. rather than just sending your money out into the ether???

first, you post this in wrong thread, you should post in new thread. already mention, Do Not import ipod from China, if anyone tell you that, they are selling faked, Simple answer

Actually only import from China if you have experince, and have representitives out there to check out the manufacture.

I've been researching importing from China for a few weeks now, and when I first saw all of the companies offering ipods, and xbox 360's, and sony psp's, I got excited at the money that could be made buying them. But luckily I've done my research and I realized before reading this thread that the items are most likely fakes. But you are doing a tremendous help by offering your service to others.

I have money to spend on wholesale, but I am trying to figure out what I want to buy and then re-sell. SO many companies that I have found sell sneakers, shoes, designer jeans and clothing, and designer handbags. But they are all replicas, not the genuine thing.

I am trying to look for a product that I can buy wholesale from China and resell on ebay without worrying about going to jail. SO basically all of the items I listed above are out because they are all replicas.

Does anyone know popular items to buy from China that are genuine, rather than replicas? I've been doing a lot of research on several different websites, and I'm glad I've taken the time to do the research rather than throwing away thousands of dollars. But there is a lot of research ahead of me.

How about jewelry, is there any good gold jewelry that is made in China? I'm aware that they also sell Tiffany jewelry replicas, and as I said I won't want to do anything illegal.

What quanties are you looking for and what price range are you accepting to pay as i can get diesel jeans but not from china these are from Europe and are authentic.

I've been very successfull in the wholesale & retail of fire safety equiptment. What I really need is a low cost high quality photoelectric smoke detector. I've researched manufacturers in China, but would prefer ordering from an importer in pallet sized orders. Any suggestions?
