Hi Guys,
My name is Chris Port I recently I have started a outdoor clothing company called OceanRidge we are based in the North of England have a place in Edinburgh as well now. We have spent the last few months travelling around sporting events and promoting as well as selling our product range.
It has been going really well for us and we have now decided to take time away from events to try and get some of our products into shops to allow us to concentrate more on pushing the brand forward whilst not running a business that is not selling unless we are there. We are also selling through our website which is also going well all be it they have to know us before they can search for us, this is changing gradually and now we are posting to outside the EU as well as inside.
Currently we are just providing general clothing and base layers or hang out clothing for before or after sporting events.
My question would be, how do we go about the next step? do you know any stores who would be interested in stocking a new outdoor clothing company? I would like to stay away from the larger stores until we grow larger ourselves.
All of our products are made in England so we do not benefit from the cheap labour other companies do but that seems to be a big selling point for us. So would like to keep it that way especially during the recession as we are working with a lovely family company who make our clothing and helping them stay afloat.
Please feel free to check out our web site, I would post it on here but until I make 15 posts am not aloud, you can find us with a google search though. or check out or facebook where we have an active communitte talking about sports through out the UK and are picking up more of a following every day.
Thanks Guys your advice is hugely appreciated
Chris
