How much do people usually pay a purchasing agent for his/ her services?
As far as I know their responsibilities include product sourcing, factory qualification, logistic coordination, QC, negotiation, import documentation, etc. How much do people usually pay for such services?
If anything goes wrong, such as bad quality or late delivery, is the agent liable for it? Or, he just takes his fees once cargo is shipped from China?
If an agent agrees to assist me delivering goods all the way to my door and be responsible for both the quality and delivery time, how much max do you think the agent can charge? How do you think the agent can really be responsible for it if he already got the money?
Thank you all for helping.

welcome to BW.net
usually the charge is 5-10% of your value goods
late delivery is nothing can control by agent. this happen all the time when cargo get in the cutoms. as far as i know bad quality problem, you trust your agents before you place order, so i believe agent will do all best they can to get you best quality products. also you must tell the agent as much as detail what products you looking for, so no misundertsand on products, and ask for some sample if your quantity is large. see the products first, then ask your agent contact the menufacture for orders, or you can contact menufacture yourself. there is no limted on whoever responsible. it is all depend on the deal you have with your agent, i don't think any agent will take responsibility for quality becuase if any case the during shipment the product is damaged, this is nothing can control, if your products is expensive. so still depend on your case.
