All,

I am considering importing some products from Asia into the US for retail sale, and I have a quick question about brands/branding that I don't quite understand:

I've noticed that you can source in Asia brand-name products as well as no-brand name products. It doesn't have to be something as obvious as an Apple iPad, but even things like shoes, shirts, iPad accessories, etc can all be bought with a brand name on them. If you were to source and sell these products at a profit, what are the trademark/copyright/infringement issues that you run in to? Are you required to pay a royalty? Things like iPads are way too obvious, but the same question applies to all manner of small consumer items. When do you run into problems, and how do you know?

Thanks in advance,

Mike
